What's included

What a kitchen renovation includes

Every kitchen is different, but most projects cover these elements.

Cabinets

Custom or semi-custom, designed around how you store things: deep drawers, smart corners, a pantry and soft-close hardware.

Quartz or granite countertops

Quartz is the most popular choice for its durability and easy care; granite brings one-of-a-kind natural veining. Templates are taken once the cabinets are in, for an exact fit.

Island

Storage, prep space and seating in one piece. Depending on the room, it can hold a sink, a cooktop or bar stools.

Backsplash

Ceramic, large-format porcelain or quartz to match the counter: it protects the wall and sets the tone for the whole room.

Flooring

Tile, luxury vinyl or engineered wood, chosen to stand up to water and daily traffic. It can run into the next rooms for a seamless look.

Lighting

Recessed lights, under-cabinet lighting and pendants over the island, so the counter is well lit and the room feels warm at night.

Plumbing and electrical

Moving the sink, adding a dishwasher or dedicated appliance circuits: this work is done by licensed master plumbers and master electricians, whom we schedule into the project.

Layout changes

Opening the kitchen to the dining room, removing a wall or rethinking the flow. If the wall is load-bearing, we plan the right structural solution before any finishing.

Budget

How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Montreal?

The budget depends first on the scope of the project. It usually falls into one of three categories:

• Refresh — the layout and most cabinet boxes stay: new doors or painted cabinets, countertop, backsplash, faucet and lighting. It's the most affordable option.
• Mid-range renovation — new cabinets, quartz counters, backsplash, flooring and lighting, without moving plumbing or walls.
• Full renovation with a layout change — everything is redone and the layout changes: a wall comes out, the sink moves, an island goes in. This is where design and trade coordination carry the most weight.

Within each category, the cabinet type, the countertop material and the condition of what's already there drive the price. Every project is priced after a free consultation.

Timeline

How long it takes

Timing depends mostly on the scope of work and how long the cabinets and countertops take to make.

• Refresh — the shortest project, since the layout and plumbing stay where they are.
• Mid-range renovation — installation moves quickly once the cabinets arrive; their fabrication, then the countertop's, sets the schedule.
• Full renovation — plan for more time: demolition, structural work, plumbing, electrical and, when needed, permits and inspections come before the finishing.

You get a detailed schedule at the planning stage, and we keep you posted at every step.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a permit to renovate a kitchen in Montreal?

It depends on the work. In Montreal, permits are issued by each borough, and the requirements vary from one area to the next. A permit is generally needed as soon as plumbing, electrical, a wall or the structure is involved. We check the requirements for your address and prepare the application.

Can I live at home during the work?

Yes, most of our clients stay home. The kitchen is out of service for part of the project: we help you set up a temporary kitchen corner, protect the surrounding rooms and clean the site every evening.

Who handles the plumbing and electrical?

In Québec, this work must be done by licensed specialty contractors. We bring in master plumbers and master electricians and schedule them into the project, so you deal with one contact.

How do I get a quote?

Book a free consultation online or call us at (514) 242-6270. We look at the room, talk through your needs and budget, then send you a detailed quote.

Do you supply the cabinets and countertops?

Yes. We coordinate the design, fabrication and installation of the cabinets, countertops and hardware. If you already have a designer or your own cabinets, we work with them.
