Construction Hibou operates the website constructionhibou.ca. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, who it is shared with, and what your rights are under Québec's Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (CQLR, c. P-39.1), as amended by Law 25.

What we collect

• Audience measurement. If you consent, Google Analytics places cookies on your device and collects pseudonymous browsing data: pages viewed, referring site, device type and an approximate region derived from your IP address. These cookies are off by default. More than that: the Google Analytics script is not even loaded until you accept it — if you refuse, or simply don't answer, no request is sent to Google.
• Consultation requests. Our site has no forms. When you click "Book a consultation", you are taken to a form hosted by Jobber, where you provide your contact details and a description of your project. That information is collected by Jobber on our behalf and is used only to respond to your request.
• Direct contact. If you call or email us, we keep the information you send us in order to handle your request.
• Site assistant. The chat window runs entirely in your browser — no conversation is sent to our servers or stored.

Cookies and your consent

No audience-measurement cookie is switched on before you consent. On your first visit, a banner lets you accept, refuse or customize your choice — all three options carry the same visual weight and no box is pre-checked.

Your choice is stored locally on your device (browser local storage) so you are not asked again on every visit, and it is re-confirmed after twelve months. You can change or withdraw it at any time using the Privacy preferences link at the bottom of every page. If you withdraw consent, any Google Analytics cookies already set are deleted.

Why we use it

We use this information only to respond to your quote requests, to carry out and follow up on our projects, and to understand how our site is used so we can improve it. We do not sell any personal information and we do not run targeted advertising.

Service providers and processing outside Québec

We rely on providers that may process or host information outside Québec, including in the United States:

• Google — Google Analytics (audience measurement), loaded only after you accept, and the Google Map on our Contact page. The map loads only if you click “Show map”: until you do, nothing is sent to Google. Our typefaces are hosted on our own server, so displaying them sends no request to Google.
• Jobber — the consultation request form.
• Cloudflare — website hosting and delivery.

Retention

We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described above, after which it is destroyed or anonymized.

Your rights

You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, to withdraw your consent and, in certain cases, to request its deletion or de-indexing. Send your request to the person responsible listed above; we respond within 30 days.

If our response does not satisfy you, you may file a complaint with the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec.

We may update this policy. The date it was last updated appears at the top of this page.
